It’s made for stretch fabrics. You could probably able to alter it a little to work with woven but it’s so comfy with stretch!

I used about 2 yards of fabric for this project!

No you don’t stretch the material while hemming! It can get all wonky. But if it does you can do a light iron to help get the waves out

Yes!! Industrial machines are really great with thicker materials but also you want to get the strongest needle, so definitely get a jean or leather needle. I’m sure the more advanced heavy duty machines have even stronger specialty needles for this too!

That's very easy for an industrial machine. On a home machine, thread size becomes an issue, even if it is a powerful machine. On any machine, , it depends upon the power of the motor and the reduction ratio employed. There are a number of things you can punch through, but the number of layers can alway be stacked to a point of failure. Also, you can often run your machine through something but encounter thread fraying and tension range issues. If the plastic tends to seal up after you remove a pin, it may be a real challenge to hit a combination of needle, thread, and tension that will work. Also, if there any adhesives on a layer, it may complicate the task, such as an adhesive backing on Velco. Thicker than 0.055 polyethylene sheeting with fabric layers will be challenging.
